Assistant Director/Campus Minister
Sr. Renée Daigle, MSC is a native of Houma, Louisiana, and is a member of, and vocation director for, the religious community of the Marianites of Holy Cross. She has served as a member of the St. Albert staff since January 2008, As Assistant Director, she assists the Director with oversight of the Student Center and supervision of its staff. As Campus Minister she is responsible for coordinating all the student services, programs, and ministries at the Student Center, and is the staff liaison with Southeastern’s Catholic Student Association. She coordinates retreats and meetings for the students here at the Center. Sr. Renee is an active member of, and former officer of, the Louisiana Association of Catholic Campus Ministers (LACCM), a member of the national Catholic Campus Ministry Association (CCMA), and a member of the Pastoral Planning Task Force of the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Physical Plant Manager
Our physical plant manager is Mr. John R. “Juba” Johnson, Jr. A former student at Southeastern Louisiana University, he is originally from New Roads and has been on the St. Albert Staff since 1997, having served as Lay Campus Minister until 2008. He is responsible for the management for all of St. Albert’s facilities. He is also Director of St. Albert’s liturgical music ministry and serves as cantor at the 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Sunday Masses. Mr. Lawrence Moye, a native of Hammond, is our custodian. He joined the St. Albert staff in 2009 and assists Mr. Johnson in the upkeep and asthetics of the property here at St. Albert. He can be reached at 985-345-7206.
Mrs. Debbie Bergeron joins the St. Albert staff in January 2014 as the Student Center receptionist, bookkeeper, and Fr. Randy's secretary. Among other administrative duties, she schedules weekday and Sunday Mass Intentions, reserves use/rental of the Student Center meeting rooms and auditorium, and is the Child Protection Site Coordinator at St. Albert. Debbie has held several positions in upper level administration in both the non-profit and corporate worlds. Her most fulfilling positions have been in Catholic institutions of higher education and in her Church parish. Among those positions in which she served were Administrative Assistant to the President of Loyola University, Executive Assistant to the President of Our Lady of Holy Cross College, and office manager at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chase. She has been actively involved in her Church parish as well as in the wider community. She holds a B.S. degree in Psychology from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. She considers herself a lifelong learner and loves to read. She and her husband reside in Hammond, and have two grown sons and four beautiful and very active grandchildren.
Donna King officially joined the staff in February 2014. She worked at CII Carbon in various positions, retiring in 2007. Since moving to Hammond from Norco, Donna has been an active St. Albert volunteer in the office and both she and her husband Ray have been active volunteers with our free SELU student lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She loves spending time watching her two grandchildren play sports and also enjoys fishing with her husband Ray in her leisure time.
